Best Buy is the first major retailer to offer an entry-level digital entertainment and automation package called ConnectedLife.Home. Installed by Best Buy For Business, this package represents a major step in the mainstream adoption of automation. To offer the products they know, have tested and are confident in, BBFB turned to hardware-neutral Life|ware to pull the package together. (See related press on this project.)

LAS VEGAS (CES - Convention Center Courtyard)
Hello, everybody. Nice seeing you again. It’s the last day of the show and while many of the exhibits around the Life|ware home are empty, the line at our experience is unrelenting. While the actor’s voices are bit hoarse today, their spirits are high and the presentations excellent.
Master Bedroom
We meet up with Grandma in the Master Bedroom, where she’s wrapping up a new Zune for her grandson. Grandma doesn’t really understand how her system works - she thinks her son got her a really smart TV - but she does love it. Here’s what she’s doing:
Grandma loves to check the weather report first thing, and Life|ware serves up daily, three-day, five-day and seven-day forecasts for her. On cold mornings she likes to lay in bed, turn up her thermostats and let the room warm up before she gets up.

We’re moving into the Game Room now, a brackish place littered with empty Red Bull cans and pizza boxes, and inhabited by a semi-surly teen and his beloved Xbox.

LAS VEGAS (CES)
For those folks who don’t know, EI is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, and boasts a fairly significant number of Ohio State grads and fans.

The Great (and by Great, we mean ‘Buckeye’) Room
So Monday night’s inexplicable loss has left a few of us reeling on day two, and sent the script writer (me) scrambling to re-work some lines for the Great Room. Because in the Great Room it’s always Buckeye time and it’s always in high def, thanks to an HP 1080p TV.

“Just beyond high def is 1080p - the only def worthy of my Buckeyes….”
